Who gets the aunt of the year award? This lady right here, that’s who. My nephew was able to join me and JustaBXgirl for a sneak peek of Nintendo’s new console coming out in March. The Nintendo Switch is designed in their words to let you play where and when you want to. Just call it the transformer of video games!
The Nintendo Switch goes from being a console connected to your television to a portable game system you can bring along for the day. Today, we got to experience it as a console. We spent the day playing 1-2-Switch. This is what family games nights are made for (& adult game nights as well!)
Before I give you the four and eight year old’s thoughts let me give you my idea for how much fun parents can have playing this game after the littles fall asleep. Just make sure to keep the laughter down when yo’re “milking the cow.” If you’re anything like me then you and your friends can get competitive. I know we used to have insane Wii Olympics competitions in my pre-mom days. Watching JustaBXgirl and her cousin play this game today I could just imagine the wars that could begin between me and some of my friends. I can think of a few dad friends I would love to see walk the “Runway.”
JustaBXgirl played over six of the games included in 1-2-Switch and her favorite was Beach Flags. This might have been the best to watch her play too because she didn’t quite get the run in place idea so instead she literally ran in circles. I was pretty shocked that the Runway game wasn’t her favorite since she’s always looking to strike a pose. It was fun to finally get her and Beauty And The Bump’s minime together. Watching them strut their stuff on the runway and shake a tale feather in a dance off made me smile thinking a near decade ago Beauty And The Bump and I would be strutting our stuff through some of NYC’s most sort after VIP areas. Who knows, a little over a decade from now might find our littles repeating history.
My nephew was hooked once he started playing and tried just about every game on 1-2-Switch. His favorite was Telephone. It made me laugh when he explained the point of the game was to answer a ringing phone first. Sounds like the majority of my teenage years! Guess since most littles get cell phones during their teen years they don’t know this struggle any longer.
My nephew took very good notes on the release dates for Nintendo Switch and 1-2-Switch (March 3, 2017). I think he might be planning to ask for them both for his birthday this summer!
