Long ago before I was a blogger and even before I was a mama I still had littles on my shopping list at Christmas. I’m going to share the secret on how I figured out what to buy before I had the behind the scenes on all the hottest toys of the season. I would head over to Walmart, the website not the store because we don’t have the stores in NYC. Every year they put out a Top Rated By Kids list. And it really is rated by kids.
We were invited to attend a Walmart event in late August where we got to see this year’s list revealed. JustaBXgirl agreed with lots of what we found there. And I got to hear more about how they put the list together. Every year they bring together hundreds of kids to play with toys and choose which toys they like the most. You know JustaBXgirl is ready to get on a plane and sign up for the job. I love that it is open to all littles and not just kid influencers.
These kids know what they like and do a great job figuring what other kids like them will like. Walmart even sorts toys on the list by type and age. That helped me a lot before I had JustaBXgirl and chose toys for other littles in my life. And truth be told they keep coming up with more. This year Walmart is debuting the Walmart Toy Lab. Littles can now test out toys online through an interactive digital experience at www.walmarttoylab.com. This is fun for littles and bigs.
And you already know that I am always looking for a discount and Walmart gets that. They have already started rolling back prices on more than two hundred toys. I really love going through the list and fiding toys that I didn’t know about. I know, I know, how can there be toys I don’t know about when I’ve spent the past ten months heading to toy events to prepare for this holiday season!!! I always find something I haven’t seen when looking through the Walmart list.
