Everything is AWESOME. Okay, that might not be the word that most of us would use to describe this year, but it is definitely the word we use for describing our recent visit to the Westchester LEGOLAND Discovery Center. We hadn’t been to visit since 2019, so it felt really good to walk through the doors and see what was new (and what was familiar).
Let’s start with safety precautions because if you are like me then that is one of the first things you consider before visiting places these days. They are encouraging guests two years and older to wear face masks and social distance. They also have hand sanitizer stations readily available throughout the facility. The bricks are cleaned daily and attractions are cleaned and sanitized throughout the day. You can learn more in this video.
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s get to the fun. And trust me, there is a lot of fun to be had. Did you know that LEGO Ninjago turns 10 this year? It does. I was shocked. Where does that time go? Of course, the Discovery Center is celebrating. You should too. First, get in on the fun even if you can’t get to the facility by following them on Instagram. They are holding regular giveaways and keeping everyone up to date on what is happening on site.
When we visited, we were blessed to be able to meet some real-life NYC Ninjas, some of which happened to have participated in American Ninja. JustaBXgirl was happy to show off some of her MMA skills and take notes on tips from the masters. I’m sad that you missed that too. Don’t worry though because every weekend through September 19th there will be Westchester Ninjas in the building.
Not into learning how to walk a balance beam, scale a wall, climb a door, or more? There’s still so much more to do.
