We’ve been enjoying Sweet Suite at home the past two years but we were super excited to head down to Pier 60 last week and check out this year’s event in person. The Toy Insider is great at hosting events. They are always some of our favorite ones to attend and this year’s Sweet Suite was no exception. In fact, truth be told it was one of my most favorite Sweet Suites! It didn’t feel overcrowded or overwhelming and it was so much fun.
There was something for everyone. Here are a few of the highlights from what we saw. You will likely see some of these again and again as we get our hands on them to check out. I wanted to share things now because if you’re anything like me, you are already shopping for the holidays. You can definitely use this post as a list of what your littles will be asking for this holiday season.
Creation Sets
Unless you’re new around here, you know that JustaBXgirl loves her some LEGO. We didn’t see anything we weren’t familiar with from the brand but only because we constantly stalk the site checking out new releases. I will say that getting to see some in person moved them up JustaBXgirl’s wishlist. Here are the top two releases from the table. And yes, both were already on JustaBXgirl’s LEGO wishlist.
LEGO Friends Andrea Theater School
JustaBXgirl has been watching Doctor Squish videos for many years. When I learned she would be at this year’s Sweet Suite, I knew meeting her would be a highlight for JustaBXgirl. Spoiler, it was. And Doctor Squish was super sweet. JustaBXgirl can’t wait to get her hands on the Doctor Squish Squishy Maker. It will be available on Amazon in September.
Pixobitz Studio is a lot of fun. I really like that these don’t need heat to keep everything together. The studio comes with 500 pieces.
Big Fat Yarn is so soft! I love that each kit can be made into multiple items. Lots of fun and creativity.
Do you remember Pixicade? Prepare yourself for Pixicade Pets! We cannot wait for this to be released. You can create your own pets and care for them. You can even create items for them. Take your pet with you virtually or create a brand new animal hybrid to call your own.
Dolls
We saw so many really fabulous dolls this year. It makes my heart smile that JustaBXgirl remains loyal to doll play. Being able to attend events like this remind her that you’re never too old to play with dolls. My favorite thing about this year’s doll options was the diversity. When JustaBXgirl ran up to the Naturalistas dolls and began playing with their hair, the first thing she said was, “she has hair like me.” The pride and excitement in her voice, I will carry with me always. #RepresentationMatters is so much more than a hashtag.
I’ve been considering getting JustaBXgirl a new 18-inch-doll to keep her Journey Girl company. The HBCYou Dolls line might have just tipped the scales. I’m thinking we need all three!
If your little plays Roblox then there is a good chance they are familiar with Twilight Daycare. JustaBXgirl and one of her besties play it pretty regularly. Now the play can happen on or offline thanks to the new dolls from Wowwee.
If your littles love fashions they should be on the lookout for the Roblox game and dolls, Avastars. I had to pull JustaBXgirl away from the table because she was having so much fun styling these.
We love the Aphmau plushes and now there is an Aphmau fashion doll. How cute is she? We can’t wait to get our hands on her and unbox her 5 mystery surprises.
If you’re anything like me, you love fidget toys. And if you’re anything like me, you constantly need to be in motion. Fashion Fidgets and Fidgie Friends allow you to have fidget fun while still playing. We want to collect them all!
It is no surprise that we find LOL Surprise Dolls to be super sweet but have you seen the Mini Sweets line? This line also introduces paper balls!
Games
We’re currently working on a Family Game Night summer post and now I’m planning one for the fall when we get to check out some of the titles coming from Funko Games. I seriously want them all!
Do you remember your first Tamagotchi? Picture it, 1998. I’m aware that some of you weren’t even born yet but I was a senior in high school and thought these were super cool. Guess what? I still think they’re super cool! And I know you do too. Now, you can have a party with your Tamagotchi and even connect to friend’s Tamagotchi devices. How cool is that?
Honestly, there were so many really fun finds that this post can go on and on. I think I’ve been rambling for long enough. I can’t wait to share our Sweet Suite Swag Box when it arrives. Until then check out our walk through where I show even more brands than featured in this post. Let me know if there is anything you want to learn more about. There was just so much to see and do that the walkthrough doesn’t even cover it all!
