I remember when I would write my tween/teen gift guide based on what my niece and nephews wanted. Today I’m writing based on things that JustaBXgirl and her friends are into! Time flies when we are having fun. Let me tell you that tweens/teens have a warped sense of what things cost! Listening to what is on some of her friends Christmas lists has me thanking the heavens that the most outrageous items on JustaBXgirl’s list are expensive LEGO sets. She has a friend who included an $11K Chanel bag on her wishlist! Where they do that at??? You will not find those types of items here. What you will find here are gifts that let our littles know that we see them growing up. We realize that they are not the itsy bitsy beings they once were. We know that their tastes and values are changing. We know that they are looking to be treated a bit more mature. Still, at the end of the day, they are our babies and we will keep them in their childhood as long as we can.
Dragon Eggz – We have a few different types of these at home. They are magical. They allow tween/teens to have something to fidget with that doesn’t look juvenile. They allow not so littles to hold onto magic a bit longer. They’re also amazing for desk decor. If you have a not-so-little into games like Dungeons & Dragons or Magik this is a wonderful accessory. It is also a great gift for anyone into fantasy. The dragon featured in the image can be found at Books-A-Million, Learning Express Toys, and Hallmark.
Venom Playing Cards – Not only are these some of the coolest-looking playing cards you will ever see, but they come with a stainless steel card guard. They also come with an exclusive “Book of Secrets” that will teach you easy-to-learn classic card tricks. There are six different decks to collect.
Punchkins – I shared these in my Back To School Toys post earlier this year. I’m still loving them. While I would gladly accept any of the line as one of my gifts, I know that the tween/teen crows will love them, too. These are a great way to show a not-so-little that you realize they are growing up and can handle some wordplay and adult humor.
LEGO – JustaBXgirl has LEGO builds all over our home. She has created her own town, complete with custom minifigures. There are currently at least three new sets sitting under the Christmas tree. LEGO allows not so littles to continue feeding their imaginations without necessarily feeling as if they are playing with toys.
Kitchen Mixer – I don’t think this would be a great gift for every teen/tween but, let it represent knowing who your not-so-little is. JustaBXgirl enjoys baking. She loves finding a recipe and bringing it to life in our kitchen so this would be a wonderful gift for her. Consider your child’s hobby and find something that would further them along in it.
