As we adjust to shorter days, we are still trying to pack in all the fun. Whether it is after dinner, on a random Saturday, or in between assignments, my family is always ready for game night. Playing games together is always a preferred way to catch up on what’s going on in everyone’s lives. We spend time laughing, competing, and chatting about what has been going on. It is a stress-free way to open communication with your not-so-littles and a wonderful way to get the littles used to sharing their day-to-day happenings. Here are a few games that are keeping us gabbing and giggling.

Hitster Bingo – We love Hitster. When we found out there was a bingo version, I was super excited because I love bingo too. This version of Hitster even comes with a disco ball! It’s a true Hitster party! JustaBXgirl continues to win, but we keep coming back for rematches!

Sly3 – This game is our new favorite game. It’s a quick-play game, so you don’t need a full night set aside to play. You might need some time to heal hurt feelings, though. It is easy to learn and loads of fun. If you want to add a challenge, you can play chaos style!

Smack n Cheese – We first got to check this out at Toy Fair and knew we needed to add this to our game shelf. Can you build your meal first? Will you be quick enough to smack the mac before anyone in your family? I must admit Hops is quicker than me at times. She also loves serving up the squeaky mac in her play kitchen.

Mental Floss Brain Brawl – This trivia game comes with 400 questions on 200 cards covering eight different topics. If you are interested in trivia, this is a no-brainer! Your job is to stump other players. You pick a card that you think others won’t be able to answer, and if you’re correct, you get the points. I’m looking forward to playing this on with my coworkers!

Lotus Card Shuffler V2 – I’ve been trying to teach JustaBXgirl how to shuffle cards since she was tiny. It hasn’t stuck. Usually, we end up playing 52 pick-up if she shuffles. The Lotus Card Shuffler V2 is a game changer. Honestly, it feels like a game itself. We enjoy watching the cards shuffle themselves. It is like magic.

Card Games – Since we have a card shuffler, it only makes sense that we play some old-school card games. Currently, Hops’ favorite card game is I Declare War. JustaBXgirl enjoys 21 Blackjack. With one deck, there are so many games to play that the possibilities are endless. When was the last time you picked up a deck of cards? Oh, and bonus points for learning card tricks!
