Spring Reading List

We received many of these titles for review purposes. As always, opinions are honest and my own. This post contains affiliate links.

I hope you’re ready because I’ve been gathering books all winter for my Spring Reading List! What can I say, I don’t like going outside much in the cold, so we do a lot of reading. This list has something for everyone. I love the diversity in this list along with all the research and learning opportunities.

30 Breads to Bake Before You Die – Things arrive just when needed. JustaBXgirl has enjoyed becoming a baker. Bread is something she hasn’t had the chance to try but added to things she wanted to learn to make this year. We were both super excited to receive this book and will be adding it to homeschool baking time. She is excited to attempt the Baguette recipe included. I can’t wait for her to attempt the Brioche with Honey Butter because she makes an amazing honey butter,

House Plants And Their F*cked Up Thoughts – This book is hilarious. Please gift it to any plant parents that you know.It is a fun addition to a library. Once you get passed being insulted by your plant, it does share tips on where the plant should be homed and how it should be watered.

The Mmajjian Warrior and the Enchanted Carousel – JustaBXgirl loves books with a powerful FMC. Laura is that. Add in the fantasy elements of this story, and I knew she would love it. It is a great read that mixes real-life issues that adolescents face with an enchanted aspect that makes them more inclined to communicate and learn. The Spanish edition will be released on May 15, 2025.

What’s She Hiding – I love a good thriller. I always enjoy seeing how quickly I can figure out where the author is going. There is a lot going on in this book but it all works and doesn’t feel overwhelming or all over the place. You would never know that this is a debut novel. The pace is good. The story engaging. The main character is believable. Yup, add this to your

I Love to Watch You Grow – Okay, mamas, get ready to feel all of the feelings as you read this to your littles. It is the perfect addition to a birthday gift or holiday basket. I know that it’s meant as a little kid’s book but I think it is fitting for your little of any age.

How to Catch a Loveosaurus – This book is super sweet and colorful. It made Hops want to plan a trip to the museum. My favorite part of the book? I absolutely loved that they highlight a vocabulary word on each page. It’s a great way to introduce new words to little, as well as give new readers a word to focus on in each page.

Dinosaur Day – This book needs to be on every dino lover’s bookshelf. The dinosaurs are coming and we have to get ready. I love that this book includes all different types of dinosaurs, so chances are you will be able to find your favorite on the pages. The story is fun. The illustrations are vibrant. This will be well-read and well-loved.

My Mom – This one is a love letter to you, mom. It is another book that will have you in your feelings. It’s a beautiful read about the bond between mama and little.

Sofi and the Magic, Musical Mural -Raquel M. Ortiz is one of our favorite authors. I love how she tells beautiful stories that share culture in two languages. We are celebrating the 10th anniversary of this title this May. This story can teach so much while also just being a beautiful read. It celebrates art, music, dance, and family. It reminds us that sometimes we need to face our fears and they can become our friends,

Why We Eat Fried Peanuts – I enjoy adding books to our shelves that teach us about different cultures. This book is a sweet story where the dad (yay to dads being featured) shares the history about why their family eats fried peanuts for the Chinese New Year. This book includes vocabulary words so we can become familiar with how to say a few things in Mandarin. This book celebrates family, culture, and food. It even includes a recipe so we can make our own fried peanuts.

Why We Celebrate Valentine’s Day – This was a great addition to our homeschool day on Valentine’s Day. It was a great way to see why we celebrate the day. I adore that it breakdown the history of the holiday and shares how it is celebrated around the world. We discussed next year celebrating the way other cultures do. JustaBXgirl was excited to learn that in Japan they celebrate by giving different types of chocolates based on the relationship you have with the person.
