It’s already the end of January! How did that happen? We rang in the new year, I blinked, celebrated JustaBXgirl’s 9th birthday and now we are about to say Hello to February. This month I have had the chance to check out a few shows for myself so you will see those on the list as well as family-friendly ideas. Some of these might have you saying that we are late to the viewing party but listen, life happens and we share what we like.
Sweet Tooth – Told you that sometimes I am late to the party. Let me tell you how I accidentally started watching this show, I had just finished watching Madam Secretary and was looking for something to watch when someone recommended Sweet Girl. I could only remember the Sweet part and started watching this just waiting for Jason Momoa to pop up on my screen. Go ahead, please laugh. I’m happy that I started watching it and now I can’t wait for season two. It was amazing. Watching how this world has reacted to a global virus while our world is going through one was a bit frightening. Felt like we could be looking at our future in some ways. The hybrid storyline is definitely interesting and I can’t wait to see where it goes. I’m considering checking out the comics so I can prepare myself for what comes next!
The Eternals – You know that I’m here for all things Marvel. I loved that this movie gave us a new direction for the MCU. I really enjoyed the idea of how so much can change based on the information that we have. I’m never one for spoilers so I won’t get into specifics. Instead, I’ll ask a few questions. What would you do if everything you believed was actually a lie? Would you follow your mission even if it meant the demise of nations? What if someone had the opportunity to have stopped Thanos? What if you were given the opportunity to be Eternal? How would you spend your days? You can check out The Eternals on DisneyPlus or take it home today on BluRay, DVD, and Digital.
Strange Magic – This has been one of JustaBXgirl’s favorite movies forever! Recently, she found it on Disney Plus and hasn’t stopped watching it since! It has everything she loves, music, strong female characters, amazing visuals, and lots of laughs. She sings and dances along to the soundtrack and is even beginning to say the lines along with the characters.
Stay Close – Everyone has secrets! That is not a lie. This show was masterful in showing us how so many different people’s secrets can be interwoven. I was really impressed with how they built the story and slowly put the puzzle pieces together for us. I was trying to figure things out right up until the end. If you’re into mystery then you don’t want to miss this one.
Ada Twist, Scientist Season 2 – Yup, our girl is back with season 2. JustaBXgirl LOVES Ada. She finished all 6 episodes in season two in one day. The gang is all back with lots more science and fun.
